Lifting beam
A beam between hoist and load that distributes the load over several attachment points and brings the sling angle to zero. It prevents long or floppy parts from being pulled together and keeps them level. Lifting beams are lifting accessories in the sense of the machinery regulation: they need their own marking, a declaration of conformity and periodic inspection.
