Chain hoist
A hoist that lifts the load on a round steel chain. The chain runs over a chain wheel and is stored in a chain box, which makes the lift almost any length. Chain hoists are robust, insensitive to dirt and cheap to maintain; their headroom is greater than a wire rope hoist, and without additional control they allow no sensitive hand guidance.
