Load hook
The component the load hangs from, standardised in DIN 15400 and DIN 15401. Its most important discard criterion is the opening of the throat: ten per cent against the new dimension means replacement. It is measured between two punch marks set on the new hook – where these are missing, assessment is considerably more laborious. Added to that are deformation, cracks, and a safety latch that has to close and not merely be present.
