Articulated Arm Hoist

The jointed arm for millimetre-precise handling.

A column-guided manipulator with a two-section articulated arm and integrated electric chain hoist. From a single fixed position it opens up a large working area, guides loads sensitively around obstacles and relieves your staff with every movement – ergonomic, safe and precise.

How it works

One position. The whole working area.

The two-part articulated arm folds and extends like a human arm – reaching every point within the radius, around obstacles included.

  1. 1

    Column & base plate

Stable, torsionally rigid base – bolted down or as a mobile base plate.

  2. 2

Articulated arm (2 segments + joint)

The articulated arm system folds and extends, reaching even concealed positions.

  3. 3

    Electric chain hoist

Integrated hoist for safe, stepless raising and lowering of the load.

The working cycle

Picking up

The chain hoist lowers; tool or load is picked up safely.

Lifting

Sensitive, stepless lifting via the chosen control.

Guiding & articulating

The two-section articulated arm guides the load around obstacles to any point in the working area.

Positioning

Millimetre-precise, low-reaction setting down – without effort.

Applications

Wherever loads are moved precisely.

01

Assembly workstations

Typical in the automotive and supplier industry: engines, gearboxes or axles (up to 125 kg) are fed, rotated and joined to the millimetre – the assembly stays steady at the installation point, entirely without effort.

02

Machine loading

For machining and forming in machine and tool making: the articulated arm places blanks deep inside turning, milling or pressing machines – without reaching into the danger zone.

03

Order picking & packaging

In logistics, dispatch and consumer goods production: boxes and containers of up to 125 kg are pulled sensitively instead of lifted – for consistent output and spared backs across the whole shift.

04

Tool handling

In tool, mould and fixture making: heavy injection moulds or clamping devices are guided safely in suspension and set precisely into their mounts – shorter set-up times, protected tooling.

05

Food industry

For dairy, beverage and meat processing: with a food-grade Rilsan coating, the articulated arm moves containers, moulds and packaging hygienically, cleaning-resistant and ergonomically.

06

Explosion-proof areas

In chemical, coating and pharmaceutical production (ATEX zones): the explosion-proof version moves your loads with approval and sensitivity – where standard equipment is not permitted.

Your benefits

Why the Articulated Arm Hoist?

Large working radius

Serves a working area of up to 3.4 m from one fixed position.

Ergonomics & safety

Takes the weight, reducing strain and the risk of accidents.

Reaches every position

The articulated arm guides loads around obstacles and into machines.

Individually configurable

Colour, control, hygienic and explosion-proof versions to suit your process.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the Articulated Arm Hoist

Does the gripper count towards the 125 kg payload?

Yes. Our payload includes the tool – gripper, adapters and attachments all count. A mechanical form gripper weighs 10 to 30 kg depending on its design, so subtract it from the part weight when checking whether the unit fits.

Does the column need a foundation?

Usually not. A load-bearing industrial floor is normally sufficient; the column is anchored or bolted. At 125 kg over 3.4 m of reach the base sees a good four kilonewton metres – we calculate the anchor forces before quoting. Where drilling is not allowed, there is the mobile base plate.

Why an articulated arm rather than a straight jib?

Because the path is rarely straight. The two-section articulated arm folds around guard doors, chip conveyors and control pedestals, reaching positions from one fixed point that are hidden on a straight line.
