Elbow Articulated Arm

The jointed boom with a wide radius.

A pneumatic articulated-arm manipulator with a movable jib and lifting function. From one fixed position it opens up a radius of up to 2.4 m and carries up to 400 kg – as a floor or suspended column and within the rail system.

How it works

Rigidly guided instead of freely swinging.

The jib carries the load on a fixed path and leaves it standing the moment the hand lets go. It also takes lateral forces – the difference from a rope, and the reason it stands at joining stations.

  1. 1

    Column / suspension

Floor or suspended column as a fixed base, also within the rail system.

  2. 2

    Articulated jib

Articulated arm for a large working radius of up to 2.4 m.

  3. 3

    Lifting unit & control

Pneumatic lifting function with ergonomic operation.

The working cycle

Picking up

Attach the load – the jib takes the weight.

Lifting

Sensitive, stepless lifting by compressed air.

Slewing & guiding

The articulated arm guides the load freely within its radius, around obstacles too.

Positioning

Low-reaction, precise setting down.

Applications

Wherever loads are moved precisely.

01

Assembly workstations

Typical in the automotive and supplier industry: parts are fed, positioned and joined ergonomically – without effort.

02

Machine loading

For metal and plastics processing: place workpieces safely into machines and fixtures, without reaching into the danger zone.

03

Order picking & packaging

In logistics and consumer goods production: move boxes and containers sensitively – consistent output, spared backs.

04

Workpiece handling

In tool and mould making: guide heavy parts safely and position them precisely.

05

Food industry

For dairy, beverages and meat: usable hygienically with a food-grade Rilsan coating.

06

Explosion-proof areas

In chemicals, coatings and pharmaceuticals (ATEX zones): approved and safe in the explosion-proof version.

Your benefits

Why the Elbow Articulated Arm?

Large radius

Serves up to 2.4 m from one fixed position.

Up to 400 kg

Five capacity classes for light to heavy loads.

Reaches every position

The articulated arm guides loads around obstacles as well.

Individually configurable

Control, hygienic and explosion-proof versions as required.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the Elbow Articulated Arm

What is the maximum load for the Elbow?

Payload classes run from 60 to 400 kg, each including the tool. More important than the class is the moment: 400 kg at full radius loads the base differently from 400 kg close to the column. We calculate that for your case.

Floor-mounted or suspended column?

Both are possible, as is rail mounting. The suspended column keeps the floor clear – useful where forklifts or trolleys pass beneath the working area. It requires a roof structure with load reserve.

How precisely can it position?

The rigid jib guides the load on a defined path and leaves it standing when the hand lets go. That is the difference from a rope unit and the reason the Elbow is found at joining stations.
