How it works
The torque goes into the support, not into the wrist.
Tightening throws the reaction moment back – the support absorbs it, up to a thousand newton metres. The tool itself hangs weightless in the spring balancer and can be guided with two fingers.

Frequently asked questions about the Torque Arm
Why do you need a torque arm?
For any fastening with a meaningful tightening torque. Without one the reaction torque of the nutrunner ends up in the operator’s wrist – at 1,000 Nm that is no longer a question of strength but of safety.
What does a load moment of 1,000 Nm mean?
That is the reaction torque the arm absorbs. Not to be confused with the tool payload of around 15 kg – that is the weight of the nutrunner which the arm additionally carries.
Can a balancer do this too?
No. A balancer carries weight, not moments – it hangs on a rope and turns with the tool. A torque can only be braced by a rigid arm.
