Slewing Crane Rope Unit

Wide reach by slewing around the column.

A pneumatic slewing-jib rope unit: the jib slews around the column, covering a circular area of up to 5 m, while the rope unit raises and lowers the load sensitively.

How it works

One pivot, a five-metre circle.

The jib swings around the column and covers a full circular area. Within it the rope unit lifts and lowers smoothly – right wherever work happens around a station rather than along a line.

  1. 1

    Column (pivot)

Fixed column around which the jib slews.

  2. 2

    Slewing jib

Rigid jib with a reach of up to 5 m.

  3. 3

    Pneumatic rope unit

Raises and lowers the load sensitively on the rope.

The working cycle

Picking up

Attach the load to the rope unit.

Lifting

Sensitive, stepless lifting.

Slewing

The jib slews around the column to any point within a 5 m circle.

Positioning

Set down precisely and with low reaction.

Applications

Wherever loads are moved precisely.

01

Assembly workstations

Typical in the automotive and supplier industry: parts are fed, positioned and joined ergonomically – without effort.

02

Machine loading

For metal and plastics processing: place workpieces safely into machines and fixtures, without reaching into the danger zone.

03

Order picking & packaging

In logistics and consumer goods production: move boxes and containers sensitively – consistent output, spared backs.

04

Workpiece handling

In tool and mould making: guide heavy parts safely and position them precisely.

05

Food industry

For dairy, beverages and meat: usable hygienically with a food-grade Rilsan coating.

06

Explosion-proof areas

In chemicals, coatings and pharmaceuticals (ATEX zones): approved and safe in the explosion-proof version.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the Slewing Crane Rope Unit

5,000 mm of reach – is the payload enough for that?

The unit is rated at 60 kg including the tool. Payload and reach are linked: reaching further means either less load or a stronger column. Long reach at modest load is exactly this unit’s field.

When is a slewing crane better than a rail system?

When one station has to cover a large circular area. As soon as several stations sit in a line, the rail is the cheaper answer.

Is a mobile version available?

Yes – besides column and rail, also mobile on a base plate. The ballast weight follows from payload and reach; at 5 m of reach it is correspondingly high, and we calculate it in advance.
